In the name of God

The First International Islamic Unification Film Festival

Call for Entries

May 3rd to May 9th, 2016

The unification and approximation of Islamic religions have always been among the goals and wishes of freethinkers, the mindful and religious and political reformer figures, and the attempts to realize it in different eras, has experienced great vicissitudes. Since the beginnings of the Islamic Republic of Iran foundation, reaching this sacred goal, which is based on some secure roots in The Book and Sunnah, has been one of the biggest goals of Imam Khomeini, the great leader of the revolution.

The problem of religious approximation in Islam world, it means “the approximation of the followers of Islamic religions in order to know each other and achieve a religious brotherhood on the basis of undoubted principles and Islamic similarities”, was proposed following the inconsistencies and schism among different Islamic societies. Its consequences unfolded in ethnical, social, cultural and economic relationships among Muslims; and afeature with these discrepancies, Muslim scientists and reformers started their efforts to reach an integrity and unification among the Muslims.

The Islamic revolution in Iran and the creation of an Islamic government by Imam Khomeini, the founder of Islamic Republic of Iran, served as a background to develop these efforts in order to advance scientific studies and researches, without any unjust bias toward a special religion, which is an indication of the affinity and consistency among various Islamic sects.
